Cody Zhou

Cody joined Upshot as an intern in June 2023, focusing on sourcing potential investments, assisting with portfolio management, and leading platform-building initiatives.

Before joining Upshot, Cody worked at CICC and Accenture, gaining valuable experience in coverage (targeting family offices) and strategic consulting capacities. During his undergraduate career, he participated in several research projects at Berkeley Lawrence National Labs and the United Nations.

Cody graduated with dual degrees: a BA in Economics and a BS with Honors in Environmental Science from UC Berkeley in 2023. He also holds a minor in data science and a certificate in Entrepreneurship and Technology from the UC Berkeley Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, the parent institution of Berkeley SkyDeck. Currently, he is pursuing his fifth-year master's in the Civil and Engineering Department at UC Berkeley.

Born in Wuhan, China, Cody spent his childhood in several countries, including Australia, Uganda, and the United States. He founded the first intergovernmental-sponsored environmental NGO in Uganda in 2015 and actively represented the environmental NGO in East Africa at the UN Environment Programme in Kenya.
